¡Genius!
Every once in a while the Genius who lives inside my iPod creates me a playlist that is just too good to be true! Jonah and I made lunch, danced and ate to these tracks this morning. Lisztomania, Phoenix Skinny Love, Bon Iver Horchata, Vampire Weekend 15 Steps, Radiohead Closer, Kings of Leon Blood Bank, Bon Iver Life in Technicolor, Coldplay Back in Your Head, Tean & Sara The Sound...

Galatians 5:19-26 // The Message
It is obvious what kind of life develops out of trying to get your own way all the time: repetitive, loveless, cheap sex;  a stinking accumulation of mental and emotional garbage;  frenzied and joyless grabs for happiness;  trinket gods;  magic-show religion;  paranoid loneliness;  cutthroat competition;  all-consuming-yet-never-satisfied wants;  a brutal temper;  an impotence to love or...

(I'm) 90 Day Challenge(d)
The 90 Day Challenge was an epic fail. I think I’ve skipped out on as many days as I’ve completed the reading! With the amount of down time I have in the evenings (while Rachel is at work and Jonah is sleeping) you would think this might’ve been a brilliant success, and I was quite looking forward to gloating to anyone who would listen that I made it through the entire bible in...

Anyone who sets himself up as “religious” by talking a good game is self-deceived. This kind of religion is hot air and only hot air. Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world. James 1:27 (The Message)

90 Day Challenge Update
I’m only twelve days in to the 90 Day Challenge (i.e., reading through the bible in 90 days) and I’ve already used up both my “grace days” (er…make that three grace days). It’s a lot harder than I thought it would be finding the time to meaningfully read through 14-16 chapters of scripture in a day. It’s been taking me between 35 and 60 minutes each day....

The Content of Contentment
It’s been a hectic week. Rachel is back to work (starting a brand new job) after a year of maternity leave, and I’m adjusting to life as a stay at home dad. It’s the perfect recipe for missing appointments. Jonah was only half an hour into his morning nap when we remembered he had slept right through his doctor’s appointment (how irresponsible of him). So, we woke him up...
